Upcoming Korean Drama - Heirs

DrumRoll Please.... Lee Min Ho is back, in a high school rom-com with writer Kim Eun Sook (Gentleman's dignity, Secret Garden). You would have to wait for the drama however, as the date of release is in October. The Drama called "The "Heirs" or The One Trying to Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight – The Heirs" (Sheesh... haven't they heard of small titles) stars Lee Min Ho (Boys over Flowers) and Park Shin Hye (Flower Boy Next Door). 

It also stars Kim Woo Bin (School 2013, Vampire Idol) and Choi Jin-Hyuk (Gu Family Book). Not much of the storyline is revealed yet expect that its based on the relationship and friendship of rich high school student. Something on the lines of Gossip Girl in K-drama style.

    I. CAN. NOT. WAIT!!! So super excited for this one. A star studded cast and a promising (though vague) premise. Excuse me while I go skipping around the room singing and waving my hands like a crazed fangirl. ^.^

The Finale of the hit KDrama, The Gu Family Book or Kang Chi, The Beginning left lot of things unanswered. I for one was fuming and you can see my review of the Gu Family book Here.   Incase you want to know the short version of my rant, its that I have never felt this unsatisfied and betrayed by any drama till date.  Anyhow, though I was not able to find the source, I did read in one of the forums of how the writer had started out the series with a Season 2 in mind. However, this aint happening! :( This might be why the story felt more like the beginning rather than a whole package. But this is my speculation.  But what is not speculation is that the Production house have decided not to have a season 2 for the Gu Family Book... yet. Things might change and I hope to God that they do. But until then, I am left with FanVids of Gu Family Book 2.

Gu Family Book - The end or just the beginning?

Now that the drama, “Gu Family Book” or “Kang Chi, The beginning” has ended, I have loads of things to say about the drama, not all of them good. So lets start off. Be warned Spoilers Ahead.  First of all, the ending was One Shocker. I am not really the crying sort but this drama, especially Lee Seung gi made me feel like this while watching the finale... Once the drama ended, I was like this. Not sure cause now I have to find a new purpose on Mondays and Tuesday or if the finale brought this on. I had wondered why the drama has such diverse names : "Gu Family book" and "Kang Chi, the beginning". Where they thinking of a season 2? I am not sure. But what I am sure of is that the Gu Family Book plot which seemed to be the focal point in the first couple episodes was brought up very rarely as episodes went on, usually when people didn't have anything to say. Healer - Kim Moon Shik's Evolution to the Dark Side.

The problem with watching a drama like Healer is that it spoils you for all other dramas. You start having expectations so high that from there on only a handful of dramas are able to fulfll them. I started watching Healer seeing its similarity to City Hunter but expect for a few details, Healer is more satisfying a drama and much better scripted keeping the suspense and the fun till the end. All characters are well written, but the most interesting of them is Kim Moon Shik (KMS). When starting out this drama, I was certain that KMS was the villain. The PD did the awesome job of maintaining the mystery of the 1992 incident up until episode 18 which was primarily the reason it took me this long to actually figure out KMS's motive. We all know he did not start off as the bad guy but somewhere down the lane, lost his path.  Up until episode 17, we see flashes of the past that gives us hints of Moon Shik's love for his friend's girlfriend.
